Terms of Service

Plain-language terms for using OnPaper. If anything here is unclear, email us and ask.

The service

OnPaper reads the articles you save in Instapaper and any feeds you subscribe to, and delivers them to your Kobo or Kindle on a schedule you choose. You need your own Instapaper account (free or paid) to use it — OnPaper doesn't provide one.

Your account

You're responsible for the accuracy of the Instapaper credentials you connect and for keeping your Google account secure — that's how we authenticate you. Don't share your account or use it for anything other than your own reading.

Subscription & billing

OnPaper is $7/month after a 30-day free trial. You'll get an email a few days before the trial ends so there are no surprises. If you don't cancel, the trial converts to a paid subscription automatically and billing continues monthly until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account settings — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.

Billing is handled by Paddle, our payment processor and merchant of record — Paddle is the seller of record for your subscription, handles your payment details, receipts, and applicable tax, and their terms govern the transaction itself alongside these terms.

Fair use

Use OnPaper for your own personal reading. Don't use it to scrape, redistribute, or resell content, and don't attempt to abuse or overload the delivery system, Instapaper's API, or any feed source we fetch from on your behalf.

Availability & changes

We aim to deliver reliably every morning but can't guarantee zero downtime — deliveries depend on Instapaper, your feed sources, and our own infrastructure all being up. We may change or discontinue features; if we ever discontinue the service entirely, active subscribers will be notified and refunded for any unused prepaid period.

Ending your account

You can disconnect Instapaper, cancel your subscription, or delete your account entirely at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or attempt to circumvent billing.

Refunds

See our Refund Policy for how refunds work.

Liability

OnPaper is provided as-is. We're not liable for content accessed through the service, for Instapaper or feed-source outages outside our control, or for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability where it can't legally be limited.

Changes to these terms

The version here is always the current one. Anything material gets called out by email, not buried in a diff.
